Below is a “Motion Picture/Photography Permit”
application for the County of Mendocino. The processing fee required is
$100.00 for each permit. A separate permit is required for each film,
commercial, photo shoot, etc.

completed and signed) with a check or money order, made payable to the
County of Mendocino, to the following address:
Mendocino County Administration
Attn: Tony Shaw

Please note that no permit will be issued without proof of insurance
naming Mendocino County as an additional insured. Once the permit form has
been approved and signed by this office, a fully executed copy will be
mailed to the address appearing on the top of the “Motion
Picture/Photography Permit” application. If you would like to receive a
copy of the executed permit at an address other that the one appearing on
the application, or would prefer to have a copy faxed to you, that
information must be provided.
For the convenience of the film/photography crew, a copy of the approved
permit will be faxed to the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Department and the

or security. These tasks must be done directly with the appropriate
organization prior to filming/photographing.
