Join a staff Naturalist Mario Abreu on a weekly Monday walk for mushrooms throughout the Garden. Staff Naturalist/Gardener, Mario Abreu will lead mushroom walks every Monday, November 12th through December17th at the Gardens. Mushroom identification, biology, edibility, myths and the good times that all come along with a mushroom walk will be included. Warning: exposure to the mushroom world can be habit-forming! Weather permitting; come prepared for wet, off-trail hiking. Meet at the Gardens Plaza Free with Gardens' Admission

On Exhibit: Partners Gallery Group Show, “Close to Home,” the Mendocino Coast FurnitureMakers’ 5th Annual Wooden Toy Show, John Hewitt’s painting exhibit, “Coast to Coast,” and a showing of the MAC art department coordinator’s artwork. 2nd Saturday Artists Reception: December 8, 5 pm to 8 pm. The Greenwood Community Church will hold its 14th annual Holiday Arts & Crafts Fair on Saturday, December 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The fair will be held at the Greenwood Community Center. Take home hand-crafted gifts, wreaths, food products and other items while supporting your local organizations and artisans. Snacks and lunch will be available for purchase. Funds raised will help maintain the historic Greenwood Community Church and renovate the parsonage.

Fort Bragg’s famous Skunk Train will run special 90-minute roundtrips throughout December. Each trip will feature a visit from Santa’s Elves, music and cookies and cocoa. All guests are encouraged to wear their pajamas. The cost: children 2-12 – $24; adults – $34.

Join us at the 3rd Annual Festival of Lights where thousands of lights transform Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens into a magical Winter Wonderland. Come! Bring the kids and join the festivities… and take care of all of your holiday shopping. Open every evening: Monday - Thursday 5:00 - 7:30 pm Friday, Saturday, Sunday 5:00 - 8:00pm KIDS FREE - 15 & under (children must be accompanied by an adult) Tickets $5 Monday - Thursday. • 7:30 pm -10:30 pm : Lenny Laks CD Release Party is a Benefit for Cancer Resource Center [details]
Mendocino Stories and Music Series will join with Lenny Laks in an annual fundraising event for Cancer Resource Center of Mendocino. On Saturday, December 1, Lenny’s CD Release Party will bring in lots of favorite local musicians. Showtime is 7:30PM at the Hill House Inn. Lenny’s new CD, “Children Gotta Walk Down That Road”, is hot off the press and includes many of the musicians playing for this benefit. Riptide with Roger Fritz, David Hayes and James Preston will be there. Look for Stevie Gurr, John Chamberlin and Steven Bates, all ready to join Lenny Laks on the big stage. All Ages Welcome! Doors open at 6:30 PM for dinner menu and full bar. Suggested donation is $20 at the door, $25 will provide you with a CD to take home with you.
