SOSTENUTO: A GALA EVENT OPENS MENDOCINO MUSIC FESTIVAL

Sostenuto, a musical term meaning "sustain," is a celebration of sustainability that offers an alfresco feast of sustainably sourced foods, paired with local wines and beer. Locavores, carnivores, and vegetarians will discover something for their tastes at Sostenuto, hosted in the home of Linda and Fedele Bauccio. The meal will be prepared by a TEAM OF CHEFS led by Chef Joe DeBono of Bon Appetit Management Company, the innovative food service company co-founded by Fedele Bauccio.
Wine pairings are by Spencer Brewer of Parducci Wine Cellars and Paul Dolan Vineyards. Beer pairings are by Mark Ruedrich founder of North Coast Brewing Company of Fort Bragg, the Mendocino Music Festival's Presenting Sponsor.
Food will be served at 10 stations around the garden, in the outdoor kitchen, in the oceanfront patio, and in the main house. Guests are encouraged to explore this beautiful property and the varied food offerings as they choose.
The menu includes antipasti, two cheese boards, brats and sausages, flatbreads, and summer salads. Grill items are pork tenderloin, baby lamb, halibut, artichokes, and butternut squash. The lavish dessert station is complemented by organic s'mores, served all evening at the fire pit in the garden. All food, beverages, and service are donated for this event.
The launch of Sostenuto - to become a signature gala event on the evening prior to opening night of the Music Festival - is through the generous support of Linda and Fedele Bauccio. Because music and food are excellent companions. Tickets for Sostenuto are $100 and available by calling the Festival office at 707 937-4041.
