For an evening of acoustic music, Mendocino Stories and Music Series will feature singer/songwriters Danny Barca and Nancyjoy Evans with special guest Paul McCandless on Friday, October 26. Nancyjoy and Danny each will perform original tunes inspired by the lovely area we live in. Music starts at 7:30PM at the Mendocino Hotel. Transplanted from the City of Angels to the wild coast and big trees of northern California, Nancyjoy Evans is a singer/songwriter, musician, dancer, artist and sometime actress. Her unique voice is a nod to big hearts, shooting stars and wanderlust but her feet are rooted in traditional Americana. Paul McCandless, Jr, an American jazz woodwind player and composer, will join Nancyjoy in the second set. He is one of few expert jazz oboists, and also plays English horn, soprano saxophone, sopranino saxophone, bass clarinet, clarinet, and pennywhistle, among other instruments. Paul is noted for playing in the band Oregon. Danny Barca will open the show. After playing and singing for years in a variety of bands, he woke up to his true passion – writing and performing all original songs. These well-crafted songs reflect his wide musical background, and will inspire, amuse and entertain you. All this, and he accompanies himself quite adeptly on the guitar. All Ages Welcome! Doors open at 6:30 PM for bistro menu and full bar. $15 -$12 at the door.
