"Hooked on Swing" with The Swing Doctors and dancers
[details]
- Community Center of Mendocino will present "Hooked on Swing," a delight-filled jitterbug extravaganza on Friday, February 15 featuring The Swing Doctors and members of Mendocino Swing Dance Society. Continuing the Acoustic Kitchen series, the music and dance performance starts at 7:30 PM at the Community Center, located at the corner of School and Pine Streets in Mendocino. Sponsored by Mendocino Stories & Music Series, The Swing Doctors will play the best of swing dance music from the 40's and beyond. This is the era of easy jazz with Duke Ellington and Ella Fitzgerald, Benny Goodman, and Irving Berlin. With several members of the Mendocino Swing Dance Society, the audience will have an opportunity to witness a variety of unabashed, titillating improvisations performed by the exuberant dancers. How they feel about swing-dancing? They're totally hooked!
All Ages Welcome! Doors open at 7 PM for snacks and beverages. $10 at the door, $5 for students. For more info on this event call Pattie at 937-1732 or visit www.mendocinostories.com/events.html
