MENDOCINO FILM FESTIVAL PRESENTS Four Screenings of A FIERCE GREEN FIRE –
This documentary explores grassroots and global activism spanning fifty years, from conservation to climate change, with vivid stories of people fighting and succeeding against enormous odds.
From halting dams in the Grand Canyon to battling 20,000 tons of toxic waste at Love Canal, from Greenpeace saving whales to Chico Mendes and the rubber-tappers saving the Amazon, FROM CLIMATE CHANGE TO THE PROMISE OF TRANSFORMING OUR CIVILIZATION.
If the early environmentalists hadn’t opened the government’s eyes to the atrocities being wreaked on Mother Nature and the inhabitants of our planet, would we be enjoying our redwood forests, drinking clean water, and relishing the sight of grey whales spy-hopping along our coast?
A FIERCE GREEN FIRE is the consummate nod of appreciation to all the do-gooders, tree-huggers, environmentalists, and global-warming activists who believe saving our planet is a noble endeavor and worth the fight.
A FIERCE GREEN FIRE was honored as an Official Selection of the 2012 SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL, despite it being an early cut of the film. We are fortunate to be one of the first festivals to screen the final cut, hot out of the editing suite.
Robert Redford, Meryl Streep, Isabelle Allende, Van Jones and Ashley Judd narrate this important film.
“BRILLIANT. Should be assigned viewing for all of us, especially those political leaders currently manning the helm of spaceship earth.”
– Jay Meehan, Park Record
