Mushroom Walks with Docent at Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens

- Join a staff Naturalist Mario Abreu on a weekly Monday walk for mushrooms throughout the Garden.
Staff Naturalist/Gardener, Mario Abreu will lead mushroom walks every Monday, November 12th through December17th at the Gardens. Mushroom identification, biology, edibility, myths and the good times that all come along with a mushroom walk will be included. Warning: exposure to the mushroom world can be habit-forming!
Weather permitting; come prepared for wet, off-trail hiking.

3 Star Sea Kayak Training

- Do you have the skills to be a competent member of a paddling team? Let's sharpen them up with a check-up and tune-up sea kayak skills weekend?
Instruction will focus on students' interests and needs in the areas of boat control, skills for paddling in moderate waters including rock gardens, safety and rescue skills, and navigation and planning following the syllabus of the BCU 3 Star Program. Previous sea kayak training necessary. $110/person/day.

Harbor seal Program
[details]
- Meet the park naturalist at the Lake Cleone parking lot. Learn about seals and sea lions. Then walk over to the seal colony to get a look at the harbor seals. This program will last about an hour. Wear warm clothing. Program will cancel for inclement weather.

Eclectic Dance Music from Around the World

- On Saturday, November 24 Mendocino Stories and Music Series presents a Fundraiser for "Global Fund for Women". Bring along your dancing shoes for eclectic dance music from around the world - from Swampy Blues to Gypsy World Grooves! Showtime is 7:30PM at the Hill House Inn.
The Blue Dudes- instrumental swampy funky blues will open the evening with Claudia Paige on drums, Nat Montoya, bass, David Jonason, guitar, and Doug Smith on keyboards. Slavic Gypsy music will follow with Conspiracy of Equals. Claudia Paige - drums & percussion, Joseph Brinkman, lead vocals, guitar, keyboard & accordion, and Bonnie Kirkpatrick on cello.
The Druid Sisters MoonJuju - Eclectic World Tribal Trance Dance will close out the evening. The band features Claudia Paige-drums/Vietnamese hand drum kit/percussion & vocal chants, Cyoakha Grace, lead vocals, native flutes, harmonium & percussion, Krystov-didjeridu, Mana Muse-tribal belly dancing. Special guests are Doug Smith on trance keyboards and Peter Temple on psychedelic bass.
All Ages Welcome! Doors open at 6:30 PM for dinner menu and full bar. $10 at the door.
