The Blushin' Roulettes with Gwyneth + Monko
[details]
- A Thanksgiving weekend tradition is kept alive with Mendocino Stories & Music Series at the Mendocino Hotel. Old-timey sounds are given new life by The Blushin’ Roulettes and Gwyneth + Monko. Music starts at 7:30PM on Friday, November 23.
With a voice that invokes Jenny Lewis' solo work crossed with the intimate folk of Gillian Welch, Gwyneth & Monko evoke a feeling of nostalgia rooted deep in classic country fundamentals. “Americana fans, rejoice, because Gwyneth and Monko have arrived to provide us all with our fix! ... this is music which is at once modern and original, while paying proper respect to the classics of the genre.” — Hear!Hear!
The Blushin’ Roulettes play old-time tunes with a modern undercurrent centered around the lyrics of award-winning songwriter Angie Rose Heimann. The quirky stage presence and loving interplay among band members reflects the small-town closeness of the rotating cast of characters. They are Buddy Stubbs on gritty lead guitar, Cas Sochacki on dobro and salty baritone duets and Jubal Stedman on brushed drums.
All ages are welcome! Doors open at 6:30 PM for bistro menu and libations. Advance Reserve table seating - $20. Sliding scale $15-$12 at the door.
